Our Cardiology department is led by Dr Arab. His extensive experience in the field offers the best in class diagnosis and treatment for all patients suffering from any cardiac conditions. Using the latest equipments and machineries, the Department offers a wide range of treatments, medical care, and remedies.
1. Stress Test Also called an Exercise Stress Test usually involves walking on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike while the heart rhythm, blood pressure and breathing are monitored. This test shows how the heart works during physical activity. Because exercise makes the heart pump harder and faster, an exercise stress test can reveal problems with blood flow within the heart.
2. Echocardiography An echocardiogram (echo) is a test that uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to make pictures of the heart. The test is also called echocardiography or diagnostic cardiac ultrasound. Doctors may use an echo test to look at the heart’s structure and check how well the heart functions. It helps find out the size and shape of the heart, and the size, thickness and movement of the heart’s walls. It shows how the heart moves and determines heart’s pumping strength and if the heart valves are working correctly or if blood is leaking backwards through the heart valves (regurgitation).
3. Electrocardiogram (ECG) An electrocardiogram — abbreviated as EKG or ECG — is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat. It determines regularity and irregularity of the heart rhythm with each beat, an electrical impulse (or “wave”) travels through the heart. This wave causes the muscle to squeeze and pump blood from the heart. A normal heartbeat on ECG will show the timing of the top and lower chambers.
4. E.E.C.P. This is a mechanical way to improve the contractility of the heart muscle by using cuff that is attached to the lower extremities of the patient. The machine produces the air running through the tubes down to the cuff that is use for compression of the extremities allowing the blood to circulate accordingly.
